FROME FESTIVAL: TEARS OF LAUGHTER AS WRITER JOHN HARRIS CHATTED ABOUT HIS BOOK ‘MAYBE I’M AMAZED’ WITH MARC ALLUM

We had tears and laughter in the house in July as writer John Harris chatted about music, autism and 'Maybe I'm Amazed'  with Marc Allum for Frome Festival, 10 jULY.

John discussed the challenges and joys of raising an autistic child, how at 3 years old his son James was possibly the world's youngest Mott the Hoople fan and just what was it like the day Paul McCartney came to town.

John enjoyed talking to a home crowd about how the bands at the Cheese and Grain keep getting better and better and which Frome coffee shop has the best playlists.

John's heartwarming book 'Maybe I'm Amazed - A Story of Love and Connection in 10 Songs' captures the power of music and the love and sometimes angst of being a parent.  Most importantly it tells the story of James, a young man with a charmingly impish sense of humour, an incredible ear for music and an encyclopaedic knowledge of the Beatles. We can't recommend it enough.

Special thanks to Tina at Hunting Raven books, Hayesdown School, The Bennett Centre, Frome Festival team and everybody else who contributed to this special event, all proceeds of which will go to Evolve Music who run community music groups in the South West.
