MEMENTOS OF MEMORABLE RECENT ROYAL HISTORIC EVENTS COME TO AUCTION
Dore & Rees is pleased to offer three pieces of royal interest in their forthcoming Select Interiors auction. The items are linked to Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer and come from the collection of the late Nigel Ricketts (1959-2022), a cabinet maker and furniture restorer, employed by the royal household at Windsor Castle between 1980-1985.

A 1935 MG NA MAGNETTE CUTS A DASH WITH A LIST OF GLAMOROUS OWNERS. The first owner of this delightful two-tone example was American showgirl, dancer and actress Hazel Forbes-Richmond. After 3 years, she sold it to fellow thespian Frank Forest, an American operatic tenor and actor who enjoyed success in the 1930s and 1940s. Title passed to Californian-based Ward Kimball. Ward Kimball was a prominent animator for Walt Disney, who worked on films such as Pinocchio, Fantasia, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, and Bednobs and Broomsticks.

Comprising approximately 1,680 manila A4 alphabetically ordered envelopes containing film studios press releases photographs, press material, editorial magazine material and transparencies of well over a thousand actors dating from the post-war period and up to the 1980s.
