Jian Jun Xi (奚建军) is a contemporary artist and collector born in China and based in London. He graduated in 1986 from the Department of Ceramics at Tsinghua University Academy of Arts and Design, where he studied under the renowned ceramic historian and cultural scholar Professor Ye Zhemin. He moved to the United Kingdom in 1987 and later graduated from Goldsmiths, University of London in 1995.‍ ‍

His long-term engagement has developed into a systematic approach to collecting and researching Chinese export porcelain, with a particular focus on Qing dynasty works from the Kangxi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong periods. His research explores imagery, decorative language, and the cross-cultural contexts of export and commissioned trade ceramics. He has contributed writings on porcelain, including studies on themes such as Romance of the Three Kingdoms and The West Chamber, published in books and journals. Selections from his collection have been exhibited at the Overseas Chinese History Museum of China and Nantong Museum.‍ ‍

As an artist, Xi’s practice spans performance, installation, sculpture, and painting. His works have been exhibited in more than twenty countries and are held in numerous institutional collections. He is the recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award (2006), the Phoenix Art Award (2015), and the NordArt Public Choice Award (2019). He has consistently engaged in advancing cross-cultural dialogue between East and West within both classical cultural traditions and contemporary art contexts.
